Eight New York counties
Long Island, all five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester. Four different recording systems, dozens of municipal search sources, and one desk that works all of them.

New York is not one market
Suffolk identifies parcels by district, section, block and lot; the city uses block and lot. Four boroughs record through ACRIS and the fifth does not. Westchester files through PREP. The East End of Suffolk adds a Community Preservation Fund transfer tax that exists nowhere else in the state.
None of this is exotic — it is simply the local practice, and knowing it is the difference between a closing that records on schedule and one that comes back rejected. Every county below has its own page with the recording system, the searches that matter there, and the local specifics.
