Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly — through the order form, the secure upload, the contact form and any account you hold — including your name, firm, email address, telephone number, property and transaction details, and any documents you upload. We also collect limited technical information automatically, including pages visited, referring source and campaign parameters, for analytics and attribution.
How we use it
To open and process title orders; to search, examine and clear title; to communicate with you and the other parties on the transaction; to issue policies and record instruments; to meet our legal, regulatory and underwriting obligations; to detect and prevent fraud; and to improve this website. We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
Title underwriters, county and municipal recording and search agencies, the other parties and their counsel on your transaction, and service providers who process information on our behalf under contract. We disclose information where required by law, subpoena or regulatory obligation.
Retention
Transaction records and title files are retained for the period required by our underwriters, applicable law and our own record-retention schedule. Documents uploaded through the website are retained against the transaction record and deleted in accordance with that schedule. Marketing contact information is retained until you ask us to remove it.
Security
Documents are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access limited to the staff working your file. Uploads, downloads and permission changes are logged. See our Security Practices page for detail. No system is perfectly secure, and we ask that you not send sensitive personal information through the ordinary contact form.
Your choices
You may ask us to correct information we hold about you, to remove you from marketing communications, or to tell you what we hold. Some information must be retained to meet legal and underwriting obligations. Contact us using the details below.
